SEND @ Coppice farm
Mrs Jefferson is our school SENCo. She oversees the provision of SEND in the school.
At Coppice Farm Primary School we have a nurturing and experienced team of staff who support children who may have needs that are additional to or different from their peers. The staff at Coppice Farm are committed to providing the best opportunities and help prepare children with Special Educational Needs and/or a disability (SEND) for adulthood. We work closely with parents/careers and the children to ensure a child centred approach which takes into account the views of children and their families. Collaborating with outside agencies such as: Speech and Language Team, Gedling Area Partnership (GAP), School Family support Services (SFSS) and the Healthy Families Team (HFT) ensures that the needs of the children are properly understood and effectively supported.
We are an inclusive school and strive to create an environment where all children can thrive and develop alongside their peers. Support for children with additional needs at Coppice Farm is given in a wide variety of ways, tailored to each child’s individual needs. We have a dedicated and hard-working teaching staff who work closely with the SENCo to support pupils within class as well as running a wide range of targeted interventions. We have regular staff and individual training on a range of SEND to ensure we keep our knowledge and skills up to date.
